Sunday Morning

3:10 / 33.6

It was a great morning for a ride.  Blue skies, sunshine and a cool breeze greeted when I left the house.

I took a turn and went down a new stretch of road.  After a mile or two the pavement ended and it turned into a dirt and gravel road.

I was going to turn around, but decided to do a little off-roading just to see where the road went.

What lies behind and...

...what lies ahead.

I was hoping this road would take me to out into the desert,
but it only went for a couple miles and ended up back on a familiar paved road.  :(
Oh well.

This was only about 6 miles into the ride,
so I just stayed on the paved roads and had a great ride for the rest of the trip.

Another Abandoned House

2:35 / 31.2

I've gone past this house many times on my morning rides and always say I will stop and take some pix one of these days.

Well, today was that day.  My left mirror was loose, so I pulled over att his house to tighten it and finally get some photos.

After I took these pix, I went on one of my regular routes.  I had a good ride, but nothing out of the ordinary happened.  Well, I did see a guy flying an Ultra Light, but didn't take a picture of that.
I also took one more photo right before the end of the ride.

I've gone all over the place in the past 2 months, so, unless it's something unusual, It is getting harder and harder to find things to take pictures of.  Believe me, I am ALWAYS looking for photo opportunities.

I played around with the photo software to change the lighting and color on the pix so they wouldn't all look the same.  These were taken around 5:45 a.m.

Here ya go;

A little landscaping and it will be as good as new!

This chair is still in pretty good shape.
A seat cushion and some wood stain
and it would be ready for many more years of rocking.

How many times have I told you to NOT slam the door?!
Now look at what you've done!

I didn't go inside the house because there was a lot of junk
on the floor and I didn't feel like climbing over it.

This looks an advertisement for Cash For Clunkers!

This is the back door.
Maybe I should've checked to see if they'd left the baby behind?

Clean up on Aisle 3.
Bring a bulldozer!

This is looking from the rear window to the side window.

I checked, and the water is still turned on.
If I ever run out of water in this area I won't die of thirst!

This is a road not too far from my home.
It has a slight downhill slant and is nice and smooth.
I love finishing up my ride on this road.
I can get up to 24 mph by the time it levels off.

My friends, Ken & Jen posted a similar picture on their blog,
so I was a copycat and tried one of my own.
I just held the camera behind the wheel and snapped the photo.

That's All Folks!

Going Down Tucker Road

2:10 / 24.4

This was yesterday's ride, but I forgot to blog it!  I went to bed early last night, so here I sit at 2:27 a.m. getting caught up.

I was riding down a road I've been on several times, but decided to take a trip down a dead end road I've passed everytime.  I just wanted to see what was down there.

And this is what I saw;

This is where I came from...

...and this is where I was going.

An abandoned house!  Let's check it out.

This is in the front yard near the road.

This is on the side of the house.

This house had a lot of windows and every one of them was broken.

The front door's opened, so let's go inside!

I think Justine's mom is goning to be mad when she sees what she did to the bedroom door!

We're out of toilet paper!

They took everything...including the kitchen sink!

This was the living room.  There were a lot of flies buzzing around in here.
I think I've watched too many episodes of CSI, because as soon as I heard the flies,
I looked to see if there was a dead body in the room!

This is the back of the house.

More broken windows!

And even MORE broken windows!

Jolly Roger sitting in the car port.

Another shot of the front yard.

And FINALLY, the last set of broken windows!

This is in the car port.

Okay.  that's it for the abandoned house.
Let's head back down the road.
I have one more odd little thing to show you;

This has to be the strangest looking mailbox I've ever seen!
This was at the other end of the road from the old house.

Well, after seeing a 350 V8 Hot Rod Mailbox,
there isn't anything I could show you that would top that, so, I won't.

A Great Sunday Ride

2:33 / 31.7

A nice cool morning and a great day to ride.  The last time I did this distance it took me almost 30 minutes longer to get it done.  I got the front tires aligned properly the other day and the trike rides a lot smoother and goes much faster.

Anybody know what kind of crop this is?  I don't.

Made in the shade.

Pedals & Puddles

2:05 / 21.8

I had to do a shorter ride this morning
because we had several errands to run.

As you'll see in the pictures below, we had a HEAVY rain last night.
I slept through it all.

Although the bike path was flooded in a few areas, I just rode through it real slow so I wouldn't spray myself  since I don't have any fenders on the trike.  The water was only a couple of inches deep.

No ballgame today!

I added the flagpole extension and some hi-viz streamers to the trike.

This was on the way out...

...and this is a few minutes later when I decided to turn around and head for home.
