On The Road Again!

I haven't been on a bicycle in about 15 years.  A few months ago, I came across a couple of guys on Facebook that are from my hometown in West Virginia.  We all grew up in the same neighborhood and I went to school with one of their older brothers.

Last year, Tim and Spike attempted to ride their recumbent bikes from AZ to WV, but were sidelined in KS due to Tim having a knee injury.  They are going to attempt to finish the trip in June of 2011.  They asked me to join them.

That is how I discovered the wonderful world of recumbent cycling.  I needed to get a bike so I could get in shape for the long trip back home.  I started out looking at recumbent bikes, but I soon discovered something I liked the looks of evn more...Recumbent TRIKES!

While researching for more info on the trikes, I came across Ken and Jen's blog.  They were getting ready to embark on a 7,000 mile trike trip across America.

The more I read about trikes, the more I wanted one.  Well, that was about 3 months ago.  Tim and Spike are still riding their bikes and Ken and Jen have been on the road for about 6 weeks now.

After a lot of researching, asking questions and reading about everyone else having fun on their trikes, I was FINALLY able to get my own!

I retired on May 28, 2010, so I have all the time inthe world to ride my trike.  Besides joining Tim and Spike on the road next year, I'm hoping to join Ken and Jen somewhere along their 7,000 mile journey later this year.

I decided to start this blog just to keep track of my triking adventures as I prepare for 2 long road trips.

I should be posting commentary and photographs on a pretty regular basis, so please check back every once in a while to see what's going on.

BTW, you can check out Ken and Jen's blog right here---> http://kenandjennc.blogspot.com/

They have links to other websites related to trikes and other things.
