Up With The Sun and Gone With The Wind

I was on the road at 0515 and did a much shorter ride than yesterday.  I was home by 0745.

I wasn't sure which way I was going to go, so I just started pedaling and turned whenever I felt like it.

I found some roads with little to no traffic.  Some were pretty smooth and some were pretty rough, but it was a good ride.

I've noticed that donkeys and horses aren't too crazy about trikes.
The horses just run away, but the donkeys get pretty upset and make a lot of noise as I go by.

I've also discovered flies and other insects like to land on my moustache to take a break as I go down the road.  Having a big fly land on your lip is rather disgusting.  I guess it's better than having one splatter all over your face.

I passed a few pedestrians and they were all friendly as were all of the drivers.  I took a couple of pictures (posted below) and then headed for home before it got too hot.  Riding between the hours of 5 and 8 seems to be the best time.  After that, it starts warming up rather quickly.  Oh well.  Such is the life of a desert dweller.

Thank God for air conditioning and the Internet!

I'll be doing a group ride with some of the folks from the Tucson Recumbent Cyclist Club on Sunday at 0600.  The ride is from 0600 to 1000, so I'll get to experience some of the warmer temperatures from the seat of my trike.  I have to get use to it sooner or later if I'm going to be doing any long distance touring.

If you can't stand the heat, get off the trike!  That's it for today.
